Obama pushs jobs and tax plan at LinkedIn Townhall

The president claimed the American Jobs Act contains initiatives to boost the economy now and in the future.  Before taking questions, Obama also reiterated calls for raising taxes on the highest income bracket to make sure that “everyone is doing their fair share.”

The president also discussed reforming entitlements like Social Security and Medicare, but promised that he would not take up the House Republican plan offered by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).  Obama addressed Ryan’s voucher program for Medicare, but dismissed the proposal, saying that ultimately seniors would end up having to pay for something they couldn’t afford.
