Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said action must be taken in Congress to spur stronger economic growth in the United States.
"It is very important that Congress do things that are going to make the economy stronger now. You know we're not growing fast enough, we're very vulnerable to what's happening in Europe, you’re seeing growth slow around the world, unemployment is still very high in the United States," said Geithner on CNN's "Out Front" Tuesday.
He reiterated Obama's public message, calling on Congress to move quickly on the president’s jobs bill.
"We've put on the table a very smart, very strong, very powerful plan," said Geithner.
He added that there were no other concrete proposals that would be as effective in creating jobs and that could pass Congress.
