An apparent postal snafu resulted in a Chicago-area woman receiving personal Christmas gifts sent from President Obama and his family intended for Sasha and Malia's godmother.

Alane Church told WLS News that she received a box of Christmas gifts late because of damage during the shipping process. When the package arrived, it included an already opened second box inside — including personal gifts from the first family.

In a subsequent interview with NBC’s “Today” show, Church said the box included a "beautiful, personal" picture book featuring pictures of Sasha and Malia Obama.

She told the network the album featured "very special, private moments of their year of 2013 together."

“Parts of the old box were in this toilet paper box that the post office repackaged,” she said. “In the bottom of the box was this extra gift. And we were reading the tag, trying to figure out, you know, where this came from, and it was opened.”
