Obama at Disney World: 'Rare' that Sasha and Malia are envious

By Geneva Sands - 01/19/12 03:35 PM ET

"I'm going to Disney World!" President Obama got to experience that slogan first-hand today.

"It is great to be here. It is rare that I get to do something that Sasha and Malia envy me for," Obama said Thursday in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom Park.

"That doesn't happen very often. Maybe once they'll actually ask me at dinner how my day went," he added.

Obama spoke at the iconic theme park to promote increased tourism in the Sunshine State and around the United States.

The president kept the jokes coming in the Magic Kingdom at the expense of one very famous mouse.

"I confess I am excited to meet Mickey. It's always nice to meet a world leader who has bigger ears than me," Obama said to laughter and applause from the crowd.

Obama, sadly, was not joined on stage by Mickey or any of his Disney friends.

After his afternoon in Florida, Obama heads to the much colder New York for a series of campaign events.
