Taylor Swift 'freaking out' to get Kids Choice Award from Michelle Obama

"I'm so honored. I've always wanted to meet you. This is amazing. I'm so honored to be receiving this award from the first lady of the United States. I'm freaking out," said Swift to Obama onstage.

The first lady was presenting Swift with a silver blimp for the Kids Choice Big Help Award in recognition of the recording artist's philanthropic work.

"I'm really happy to be here, not only to except this award, but also to tell you that I'm really proud of you guys. I see you out there helping out with environmental causes. I see you helping with different organizations for people in need. I see you helping each other in school issues like bullying," she added to applause from Obama.

The first lady told the audience that she has "always felt an obligation to give back," according to remarks released by the White House.

"Taylor Swift may be in the news for the award-winning songs and multiplatinum records, but every step of the way she has always made it a point to give back," Obama said. "It is my great privilege to present Nickelodeon's Big Help Award to ... someone who is going to keep making sparks fly for all of us in the years ahead."

The first lady, who was in attendance with daughters Sasha and Malia, was awarded the Big Help blimp herself in 2010.

Obama couldn't escape the evening without coming in contact with Nickelodeon's famous green slime. A small amount of the goo landed on her face as Will Smith and Justin Bieber were getting slimed on stage, reported The Associated Press.
