Obama arrives in Afghanistan on unannounced visit

The president will give a televised address to the nation from Bagram Airfield at 7:30 p.m. and is expected to announce he has signed an agreement on the post-war role for the United States in Afghanistan.

The trip serves as an apparent victory lap for Obama, who ordered last year’s successful mission taking out the terrorist who masterminded the 9/11 attacks.
