Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed that the Obama administration would not rest until the attackers of the U.S. consulate in Libya were brought to justice and said that there was “no justification” for the violence.
“Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet,” Clinton said. “America's commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me clear: There is no justification for this. None.”
The violence, which claimed the lives of four Americans including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, is believed to have been sparked by an anti-Islam video posted to YouTube.
