Watch: Obama's second inaugural address

By Amie Parnes - 01/21/13 01:51 PM ET

President Obama began the second term of his presidency Monday by seeking common ground and calling for the country to come “together as one nation, as one people.”

“America’s possibilities are limitless, for we possess all the qualities that this world without boundaries demands: youth and drive; diversity and openness; and endless capacity for risk and gift for reinvention,” Obama said in his inauguration address. “My fellow Americans, we are made for this moment, and we will seize it together.”

On the second day of his second term — Obama was officially sworn in on Sunday by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts — the nation’s first black president emphasized the word “together,” a word he mentioned seven times in the 20-minute address.
