Presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) said he doesn't recall
ever meeting fellow presidential candidate and home state Gov. Rick
Perry (R-Texas).
"I do not recall having ever met him [Perry] or
had a conversation," said Paul to KHOU Houston in an interivew posted online Wednesday.
When asked why he thought they never met, Paul
said, "I have no idea. I mean, I didn't extend myself to ask for an
invitation to come to the governor's mansion, but it is true that over
the years, although I had my disagreements with both President Bush
senior and junior, I met both of them."
Paul said his
conversations with both former presidents were always cordial, although
he admitted they disagreed on certain issues.
Perry is the
longest-serving governor in Texas state history, and Paul has
represented Texas in the House of Representatives for more than 20
years.
Paul also discusses his views on
government spending and the military, and shares the first thing he
would do as president.
