Liberal group attacks GOP candidates' Social Security schemes

Americans United released an ad Thursday comparing Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Perry to former President George W. Bush on the issue of Social Security.

Using the hopefuls' performances at Wednesday’s GOP Debate in California, the ad questions whether Romney and Perry are “Two peas in a pod?”

Former Massachusetts Gov. Romney is shown talking about his plan for reforming Social Security, which Americans United characterizes as “privatization.”  The ad links Romney to Texas Gov. Perry and to Bush by saying that they want to “dismantle Social Security.”
