Bachmann courts 'Sheriff Joe' for presidential endorsement

GOP presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) courted Arizona's Maricopa Country Sheriff Joe Arpaio Wednesday before meeting with the controversial law enforcement official.

Bachmann told reporters that she wants to "solve the border issue ... for all of the states, not just Arizona," and said she would build a border fence if elected president.

Arpaio is known for his tough stance on border protection, advocating for a fence to be built along the entire U.S.-Mexico border and jail-time for those that cross the border illegally. Several Republican candidates have showed interest in winning Arpaio's support for the Republican nomination.

During Wednesday's meeting with Bachmann, Arpaio said he had not made a decision yet on who he might endorse.
