Perry dines with Trump in New York City

Presidential candidate Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) had dinner with real estate mogul Donald Trump on Wednesday night in New York.

The two met at Trump Tower for more than an hour before eating dinner and then ate at Jean Georges, the high-end restaurant in Manhattan, CBS News reported.

As they entered the restaurant, someone from the crowd yelled, "Gov. Perry, you've got my vote."

When asked how the dinner meeting went, Trump said, "Excellent."

"It was very good. He knows his restaurants," added Perry as they exited and some onlookers asked for autographs.

Trump, who campaigned briefly himself, has hosted other GOP hopefuls including Rep. Michele Bachmann (Minn.) and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has been coy about her status as a candidate.

Trump drew attention earlier this year for taking Palin for slices at Famiglia Pizza in Times Square.
