Ron Paul ad touts veteran support in $1 million TV campaign

Presidential candidate Ron Paul kicked off a $1 million television campaign Thursday with this ad, praising his support of veterans and military experience.

"It takes a veteran to understand a veteran, and he is a veteran himself, says retired Army veteran, Joe R. Pena in the video.

"Ron Paul is a veteran’s best friend," says Rene Reyes, also an Army veteran.

"He said, 'Thank you for your service,' and shook our hand, and gave us a hug. That will always be there," adds Pena.

The ad will air nationally on the Fox News during debate coverage and run heavily in New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada, and South Carolina on broadcast and cable, according to Ron Paul's campaign website.

Paul has been a strong advocate for a withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.
