Denver Mayor Michael Hancock (D) agreed with two Democratic Colorado governors on Tuesday, admitting "its absolutely going to be a challenge for the president to win Colorado."
Former Gov. Bill Ritter and Gov. John Hickenlooper have both made statements that President Obama will face a struggle trying to secure Colorado’s electoral votes a second time.
The state, which Obama won with more than 53 percent of the vote in 2008, could be pivotal in his efforts to secure a second term.
Obama is scheduled to give a jobs speech in Denver on Tuesday afternoon.
