Haley Barbour says second Obama term would make ‘malaise permanent’

By Geneva Sands - 11/08/11 12:51 PM ET
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) attacked President Obamas record in a video released Tuesday by conservative super-PAC American Crossroads.

When President Obama was elected in 2008, he promised to fix what was wrong with America, but instead of commonsense solutions we got partisanship, leftist ideology and policies that have made things much worse, Barbour says in the video.

The video was released Tuesday to coincide with the one-year countdown to the 2012 election. Titled Lets Get This Done, it is featured on the American Crossroads presidential project website The 1600 Fund.

His policies aren’t fixing our problems, they’re making them worse, Barbour says in the two-and-a-half-minute video. And a second Obama term means making this malaise permanent,” a reference to a well-known 1979 speech by then President Jimmy Carter.

Barbour has joined American Crossroads as an adviser and fundraiser to assist with its presidential election efforts.
