Protesters disrupt Bachmann event

By Geneva Sands - 11/10/11 04:23 PM ET

Republican presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) was interrupted by protesters at an event in South Carolina on Thursday.

"This will only take a minute. We have a message for Ms. Bachmann. Blaming people that disagree with you — " said the protesters in unison, before being drowned out by shouts from Bachmann supporters.

Supporters countered the protesters with chants of "Michele, Michele, Michele." Others in the audience can be heard shouting, "Sit down."

The congresswoman left the stage after the protest began, but later returned to finish her foreign-policy speech, according to MSNBC.

"Don't you just love the First Amendment?" she said upon returning to the stage, according to reports.
