Michelle Obama calls Mitt Romney's singing 'beautiful'

Romney attempted to lead a crowd in a rendition of "America the Beautiful" earlier this week while campaigning in Florida - days after President Barack Obama won praise for his rendition of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together."

Romney's singing abilities drew less praise, and "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno asked Obama her impression of the rendition on the day Romney's Florida win made him the favorite to face her husband in Novemeber's general election.

"I saw it in the green room. It's...beautiful," Obama said, pausing for comedic effect. "And it is America's song and it's a song that's meant to be sung by every American."

Obama appeared on the show to promote her childhood fitness initiative and a new book about the White House garden. It is Michelle Obama's second appearance on the top late-night talk show, and her first as first lady.
