The Republican National Committee (RNC) marked President Obama's 100th
fundraising event, set for Thursday evening in New York City, with a
new Web video that accuses him of a "record-shattering pace [that]
meant other areas fell short."
The RNC cites a report from CBS News White House correspondent Mark
Knoller that former President George W. Bush had only hosted 56
fundraisers at this time during his 2004 reelection bid.
The video, supplemented by a fact sheet from the RNC, juxtaposes Obama's
100 fundraisers with his "three speeches on housing, one speech on
government reform, zero meetings with the deficit-reduction
supercommittee and 21 days of vacation" during the same period of time.
The video also accuses Obama of fundraising while "the national debt
increased by $1.2 trillion," gas increased to $3.73 per gallon and
"4.5 million voted for Obama's replacement" in the GOP race.
"After four years of failed policies, he'll need every penny," the
video text concludes.
Obama is set to headline four fundraisers in New York City on Thursday
night, according to the White House schedule.
