Palin pushes for 'rogue' GOP vice president, suggests Fla. Rep. Allen West

By Adele Hampton - 04/04/12 11:46 AM ET

Sarah Palin offered up her advice on who should be the Republican vice presidential nominee, tapping Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) as a "rogue" choice for the No. 2 position.

"What would be a rogue choice? Who would you like to see if you could pick three, four people to suggest?" asked Fox News's Sean Hannity Tuesday night.

"Specific names? Top of my list is Allen West," Palin, the 2008 GOP nominee, answered. "I love that he has that military experience, he is a public servant willing to serve for the right reasons. He understands the Constitution, he understands our national foreign policy issues that must be addressed ... I really like him."

Palin has voiced her support for West before. Last month the former governor of Alaska praised West for his military background as someone "who's been to the school of hard knocks."

But West isn't the only one on Palin's list. Hannity mentioned Florida Sen. Marco Rubio as a vice president potential — a prospect Palin also supports.

"He's great too," she said. "He's another one. There's a long list."
