Former Utah state Sen. Dan Liljenquist (R) is out with his first ad against Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), blasting him for refusing to debate more than once or debate on camera.
Liljenquist points out that Hatch called for eight debates when he first ran for the Senate, and asks why he won't do the same.
The $125,000 ad buy is airing across Utah. Liljenquist is a serious underdog in the race, but Hatch has faced some negative headlines for his insistence on having only one more debate before the primary. The two did square off before the state Republican Party's convention.
