Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) won applause from the GOP convention in Tampa on Tuesday afternoon with a quick rendition of a song Ray Charles made famous.
"Let me close by giving President Obama a heartfelt message from the good people of South Carolina: Hit the road, Jack, and don't you come back no more, no more, no more," Scott said.
Scott also riffed on the "hope and change" theme that Obama used in his 2008 election.
"The past four years of hope and change have led me to one simple conclusion: Our only hope is to change the current resident of the White House," he said.
Scott was one of a series of speakers that included Reps. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) and Tim Griffin (R-Ark.), along with several GOP candidates across the country.
"If you voted for Obama and you have buyer's remorse, let me tell you, Mitt Romney is the hope and Paul Ryan is the change," Duffy said.
