Vice President Biden officially was nominated by the Democratic Party to return to his same job.
His son Beau Biden, the attorney general of Delaware, touted his father’s achievements before the Democratic National Convention delegates voted by acclimation.
“I can say with certainty, he has been there for us,” Beau Biden said Thursday night in Charlotte, N.C.
Joe Biden appeared emotional after his son’s speech, wiping away tears. He was scheduled to give his acceptance speech at 9:30 p.m.
