The GOP-aligned outside group Crossroads GPS is up with new ads targeting Senate races in Virginia, Ohio and Nevada.
The total buy is $2.3 million, and will last a week. Three of the five ads target former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine (D): two ads accuse him of cutting public education spending to balance the budget, while another blasts him for supporting the bipartisan deal that raised the debt ceiling by creating automatic spending cuts in defense and other programs, as well as for his support of the economic stimulus. Former Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) has already attacked Kaine for those positions.
The football-themed Ohio ad
mocks Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) for voting with President Obama, while the Nevada ad
accuses Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.) of lying in her own Medicare-themed attack ads against Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.), then accuses her of voting to cut the program because she supported Democrats' health insurance overhaul law.
