Republican outside group Crossroads GPS is up with a new Wisconsin Senate ad, ripping Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) as a "tax-and-spend rubber stamp."
"Tammy Baldwin's tax-and-spend agenda is just too extreme for Wisconsin," the ad's narrator says before an unflattering clip of Baldwin saying "You're damn right" plays.
"Tammy's rubber-stamped over a trillion dollars in new pending: The Wall Street bailout, the failed stimulus and millions in pork-barrel earmarks. And she's rubber-stamped higher taxes on small businesses and a new healthcare tax on middle-class families. We just can't afford Tammy Baldwin's tax-and-spend rubber stamp in Washington."
Baldwin has had the momentum in her race against former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson (R), who led comfortably in polls a month ago but has fallen even with or behind her in recent surveys.
That's been in part because Baldwin’s had the edge on the airwaves after Thompson spent most of his money during the primary.
Crossroads has already been up in the state, but its return there is a sign it wants to even up the air fight.
