Both the National Republican Congressional Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee are up with a slew of new ads aimed at taking out the other side's incumbents, a sign that after months of below-the-radar skirmishes each party is bringing out its big guns in the battle for the House.
The NRCC is up with ads in 14 districts, including its first attacks against Reps. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.) and Betty Sutton (D-Ohio) as well as new shots at Reps. John Barrow (D-Ga.), Lois Capps (D-Calif.), Ben Chandler (D-Ky.), Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.) and Bill Owens (D-N.Y.).
They're also on the air ripping the Democrats running in a newly created Nevada district and to replace retiring Rep. Jerry Costello (D-Ill.), and attacking the opponents of Reps. Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.), Chip Cravaack (R-Minn.), Sean Duffy (R-Wis.), Joe Heck (R-Nev.) and Steve King (R-Iowa.).
The DCCC has new salvos against Heck and Bilbray as well as Reps. Jeff Denham (R-Calif.), Ann Marie Buerkle (R-N.Y.) and Bobby Schilling (R-Ill.).
Most of the races on this list are tossups, though Bishop, Capps, Chandler and Owens seem to have the edge in their races, as do Duffy and King.
Republicans will likely hold onto the House, though Democrats are likely to pick up some seats. Click here for The Hill's full race ratings chart.
