Former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine's (D) latest ad features Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), the state's most popular politician, to argue he and Kaine would make a "great team in Washington."
Warner and Kaine trade off lines in the ad — Kaine says as governor he "cut $5 billion in spending and balanced the budget every year" and "worked across party lines to get things done." Warner, a former governor, says he and Kaine, his former lieutenant governor, were a "great team in Richmond" and that in Washington they'll "work together to restore our fiscal responsibility, grow our economy and create jobs."
Warner won his Senate seat with a whopping 65 percent of the vote. He has spent a great deal of time stumping for Kaine on the campaign trail this year.
Kaine and former Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) are in a tight race for Virginia's other Senate seat, although Kaine has led in most recent polls. The two will have their second to last debate Monday evening.
