President's voice heard on celeb-filled pro-Obama song

By Judy Kurtz - 10/26/12 04:19 PM ET

While he doesn’t lay down any tracks, President Obama’s voice can be heard in a new celeb-filled pop song created to support his reelection campaign.

A video for the single, “Forward,” released on YouTube Friday, features Ne-Yo and the Goo Goo Dolls’s Johnny Rzeznik singing lines such as, “We’re on a long, hard road but we travel it together,” and “Yes, things are still tough now, but take a moment and think how, we’ve come so far and how we did it all together.”

ITK hears the song — whose title is the same as Obama’s campaign slogan — was written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois of the New Radicals and Fred Goldring, who helped create 2008’s “Yes We Can” music video with will.i.am.

The up-tempo tune mixes snippets of Obama’s nomination acceptance speech at last month’s Democratic National Convention over the music.

Net proceeds of the pro-Obama jam will benefit various charities.
