Joss Whedon says a vote for Romney is a vote for the zombie apocalypse

By Adele Hampton - 10/29/12 02:26 PM ET

Hollywood filmmaker and President Obama supporter Joss Whedon came out with an unusual endorsement of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney Sunday.

If voters are looking to forward to a zombie apocalypse, then Whedon says Romeny is the man to lead the nation to sub-human domination.

"Like a lot of liberal Americans," Whedon tells the camera, "I was excited when Barack Obama took office four years ago. But it's a very different world now, and Mitt Romney is a very different candidate, one with the vision and determination to cut through business-as-usual politics and finally put this country back on the path to the zombie apocalypse."

The video, posted to YouTube Sunday, has gained more than one million views on the site and is steamrolling through social media.

Under a Romney presidency, the director of "The Avengers" and creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" envisions a nation where paper money is useless and "the one percent will no longer be the very rich, it'll be the very fast."

“Romney is ready to make the deep rollbacks in healthcare, education, social services, reproductive rights that will guarantee poverty, unemployment, overpopulation, disease, rioting," Whedon, who has previously donated to Obama's campaign, goes on to say: "all crucial elements in creating a nightmare zombie wasteland."
