Crossroads launches national TV buy against Obama

By Cameron Joseph - 11/02/12 02:12 PM ET

The GOP outside group American Crossroads is launching a $4.5-million national television buy against President Obama, a sign that the group is flush with cash in the closing days of the race.

The ad will run from now until Election Day on broadcast and cable TV, according to the group. National television ad buys are rare since many viewers are not in swing states.

The group's final ad features a woman accusing Obama of not laying out a new agenda for a second term.

"Mr. President, I was hoping to hear you had a new plan, but all I heard was 'keep spending, I haven't made any mistakes,' " she says. "But your spending hasn't done a thing for my family. What do I tell my kids about the debt they'll pay for, about finding jobs? Mr. President, what about your first term tells me another four years will be better?"

The group and its sister organization, Crossroads GPS, will probably have spent more than any other outside organization on the campaign when all the money is tallied after the election.
