Dem super-PAC attacking Boehner on shutdown

The spot is similar to one the group is running against Rep. David Joyce (R-Ohio), and charges "Speaker John Boehner didn’t get his way on shutting down healthcare reform. So, he shut down the government and hurt the economy."

It will air this Sunday during the NFL game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the New England Patriots.

The Joyce ad is part of a series released Thursday attacking the PAC's top nine GOP targets for the shutdown. Polling shows a majority of Americans oppose the shutdown and blame Republicans for the tactic, and Democrats believe it could be a political winner for them in next year's midterms.

Along with Joyce, the PAC is hitting Reps. Gary Miller (Calif.), Mike Coffman (Colo.), Rodney Davis (Ill.), Mike Fitzpatrick (Pa.), Michael Grimm (N.Y.), Joe Heck (Nev.), John Kline (Minn.) and Steve Southerland (Fla.) with search and, for some of the congressman, television ads.
