Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) suggested Wednesday that Congress should
make clear that the United States supports expanded natural-gas exports.
The
Louisiana Democrat, a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources
Committee, backs exports, but the panel’s incoming chairman, Sen. Ron
Wyden (D-Ore.), has been skeptical of them.
“Maybe
Congress does need to step in and make that clear that that is the
policy of the United States and these are the reasons why,” Landrieu
said at a forum hosted by The Hill.
“I am a believer in exporting some of our gas,” she said.
