Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) accidentally referred to Osama bin Laden as "President bin Laden."
King's mistake came during an appearance on CNN Tuesday morning when he was describing how al Qaeda had changed over the past few years.
"It was great killing President bin Laden — bin Laden," King said on CNN's "Starting Point With Soledad O'Brien." "I give President Obama credit for that, bin Laden being killed."
King was discussing how al Qaeda had "shifted" from being a a centralized group to a more "diversified force."
"They are a greater threat than they were back on Sept. 11 because of the fact that they are much more spread out, the fact that there is active recruiting going on to people under the radar screen, and if you talk to intelligence experts, most will agree with that," King added.
