New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) says he thinks Sunday’s train derailment in the Bronx that left four dead and dozens injured was speed-related.
“I think it is going to be speed-related. This was a tricky turn on the system, but it’s a turn that’s been here for decades,” Cuomo said Monday on NBC’s “Today Show.”
The NTSB has not yet said when it’ll be able to determine the cause of the crash, Cuomo said, but investigators have indicated there are only three options. There could have been problems with the tracks, the train’s equipment may have failed or the train’s operator made an error.
