Lawmakers read mean tweets

Lawmakers don’t always read letters from constituents — but on Tuesday, they were reading tweets.

A number of members of Congress — including Rep. So does your senator MORE (R-Mo.) — read aloud some of the more negative feedback on their Twitter account in a video titled “Mean Tweets DC.”

The video — produced by NowThis News — borrows from a “Jimmy Kimmel Live” segment in which celebrities read angry tweets directed at them.

“We decided to try the concept on a different kind of celebrity,” the video reads.

“Paul Ryan has such pretty blue eyes, sometimes it’s easy to forget he’s satan incarnate,” Ryan reads aloud.

Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) and freshman Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) also participated.

One of the harshest, and most vulgar, tweets is read by McCaskill.

“@clairecmc you really suck a pig’s a—,” she reads.
