Actor Ben Affleck says he'll be tuning in to Thursday night's vice presidential debate and has big expectations for the event.
“I wouldn’t miss it,” Affleck said Wednesday of the showdown between Vice President Biden and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney's running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). “This one feels like its gonna be spectacular, I feel like it could be like the WWE,” he added referring to World Wrestling Entertainment’s choreographed wrestling matches that draw large audiences.
Compared to past veep debates, Affleck has high hopes for Thursday night. The Hollywood star said the 2000 vice presidential debate between Republican Dick Cheney and then Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) did not stir fond memories for the actor.
“Nothing could have been more boring” Affleck said of that debate.
Affleck was in Washington, D.C., promoting his new movie "Argo," which he both directed and starred in. The film opens Oct. 12.
