Late night smash: Spitzer, bin Laden, and Obama’s new wheels

"Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon joked that if Biden jumped into the 2016 presidential race, he'd quickly score a lot of contributions — from Republicans.

On the "Late Show," host David Letterman dove into the recent report from Pakistan on Osama bin Laden.

Al Jazeera on Tuesday published the secret Pakistani investigation into how the elusive al Qaeda leader was able to remain in that country undetected for years before he was killed in a Navy SEAL operation.

Letterman joked that bin Laden was able to hide out easily in his Abbottabad compound because locals thought it was the house of Hollywood star George Clooney.

But many of the biggest laughs came at the expense of Spitzer, who resigned from office in 2008 after a prostitution scandal and announced this week that he would run for New York City comptroller.

Comedian Jimmy Fallon quipped that it was weird to see Spitzer running for that office, since he was "a guy who had a hard time comp-trolling himself."
