Gingrich is a longtime animal lover — during his 2012 White House bid, his campaign launched a “Pets With Newt” site.

A slew of lawmakers have given Google’s high-tech eyewear a try in recent months, including Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.), Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), and Morgan Griffith (R-Va.).

Google Glass isn’t expected to be available to the public until next year and will likely carry a $1,500 price tag.
