Stranded F-16 pilot rescued at sea after collision

The Coast Guard rescued the Air National Guard pilot after he ejected and his plane went down about 35 miles from Chincoteague, Va., the Coast Guard said.

The other F-16C Falcon pilot was able to fly his aircraft back to Joint Base Andrews.

The collision between the two F-16s in the 113th Wing D.C. Air National Guard occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, when the Coast Guard received an automated distressed signal after one pilot ejected.
