Obama wishes Bush well after surgery

President Obama called former President George W. Bush after his heart surgery to wish him well.

Obama called Bush on Wednesday following the Tuesday surgery to say he was "glad to hear the procedure went well and that former President Bush is recovering," White House press secretary Jay Carney said Thursday.

Doctors found the obstruction during a routine checkup on Monday. The former president underwent surgery the next day. 

Later on Tuesday, a Bush spokesman said the the procedure had been successful and that the former president was in good spirits.
