Michelle Obama takes star turn in hip-hop video

The first lady is seen speaking directly to the camera in the four-minute video created by Hip Hop Public Health and the Partnership for a Healthier America, saying, “It’s hard to believe that almost exactly one year ago we launched a nationwide campaign called ‘Let’s Move’ to help solve the problem of childhood obesity in this country.”

The music video for the song, called “Everybody,” features vocals from an eclectic mix of entertainers and TV personalities, including: Doug E. Fresh, “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks, and even Dr. Mehmet Oz (who tries his best to lay down a few lines in the fast-paced tune).

The clip is the first in a series poised to debut ahead of the release of the 19-song album of pro-healthy eating and fitness tracks, called “Songs for a Healthier America.”

The album is slated to be released next week.
