Romney aide: GOP should support Obama's proposed Syria strike

Senor went on to note that when President Obama did use the "red line" terminology a year ago, "it's not like congressional Republicans were opposed to it."

"No congressional Republican was saying, 'Don't draw that red line,'" he said. "They were never criticizing President Obama for doing too much. They were criticizing him for doing too little, so now he wants to do something."

Romney and Obama sparred over Syria on the campaign trail, with the Republican challenger accusing the president of ceding too much influence in the country to the United Nations and Russia. During the primaries, Romney also suggested arming rebel forces and undertaking covert actions to hasten regime change.
