GOP promises ‘careful’ review of Yellen

While a handful of Republicans praised Yellen, who if confirmed would be the first woman to lead the Fed, others signaled opposition over her economic views, which some believe could lead to inflation.
“I voted against Vice Chairman Yellen’s original nomination to the Fed in 2010 because of her dovish views on monetary policy,” Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), a member of the Senate Banking Committee, said in a statement.
