DNC head: I hope Matt Drudge is 'a visionary' on 2014 election

The chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) said Thursday that she hopes Matt Drudge is "a visionary" after he suggested this week that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will become Speaker again.

As the White House and GOP leaders were coalescing behind a new plan to raise the debt limit on Wednesday, the conservative founder of the Drudge Report tweeted, "Speaker Pelosi Part 2: Opening Jan 5. 2015."

Asked about the tweet on the "Bill Press Show," Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) responded, "I certainly hope that's he's correct and I appreciate that prediction. It might cause me to call Matt Drudge a visionary."

Wasserman Schultz is serving her second term as head of the DNC.

Democrats would need to pick up a net of 17 seats to win back control of the lower chamber.
