Dem senator hopes Republicans oppose ‘TrumpCare’

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) says he’s hopeful his Republican colleagues oppose the House GOP’s ObamaCare replacement plan, which he sees as “TrumpCare.”

A House committee on Thursday approved the American Health Care Act, moving it closer to a floor vote.

But asked to predict the bill’s chances in the Senate, Leahy said Republicans have a tough decision ahead.

Do Senate Republicans back "TrumpCare, to require us to vote to take tens of millions of Americans out of the healthcare system? ... I hope they wouldn't," Leahy told The Hill.
