TV ad blasts GOP for ObamaCare vote, possible shutdown

The questions, which flash on the screen, are interspersed with footage of the GOP conference cheering.

The GOP is trying to use a looming government shutdown as leverage to kill the Affordable Care Act before its insurance exchanges open for enrollment on Oct. 1.

Republicans argue that the law is unworkable and will do more harm than good.

Americans United for Change President Brad Woodhouse stated that recent GOP votes to cut food stamps and defund the healthcare law are "something only politicians completely detached from reality would celebrate."

He added that Republicans in Congress are "excited about other people's misfortune."

The ad will run on cable early into next week, the group said.
