Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Republicans in Congress should present their own jobs bill as an alternative to President Obama's proposal.
"I think we Republicans need an alternative jobs bill, so that we can show the American people that we have an alternative that will actually help the economy rather than raise their taxes and more of the same," said McCain on Fox News's "On the Record With Greta Van Susteren" Tuesday.
“We have a lot of good ideas," he added.
McCain cited proposals for cutting the corporate tax rate, repealing the president’s healthcare reform law, repatriating money from overseas and a instituting a moratorium on federal regulations and hiring.
The senator predicted those ideas, coupled with spending cuts, would restore confidence and grow the economy.
