Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) zinged President Obama on Tuesday, saying that if Republicans wanted to sabotage the economy for political gain as Democrats have accused, they would simply support his economic policies.
“The majority leader is out there telling people that Republicans are rooting for the economy to fail,” McConnell said, referring to Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.). “Nothing could be farther from the truth."
"Look: if Republicans wanted the economy to fail, we’d all line right up behind the president’s economic policies, rather than opposing them," he said.
