Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) castigated his Senate colleagues on a
bipartisan basis on Wednesday for intransigence towards lowering
government spending.
“In reality in some ways our country is worse
off than Europe,” said DeMint referring the economic turmoil that has
swept the continent. “We have federal debt, we have state debt, we have
municipal debt, we have counties declaring bankruptcy and we have states
approaching bankruptcy.”
