Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blasted the Transportation Security Administration after being detained by TSA agents Monday morning for refusing a pat-down, saying “our dignity’s been compromised” by the agency’s strict guidelines and faulty machines.
“I don’t feel more safe,” Paul told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “I feel our dignity’s been compromised, but I don’t feel more safe. I would rather see selective risk assessments done on people who are international travelers, people who have ties to groups who may be terrorists. But regular citizens don’t need to be put through this, particularly frequent travelers.”
Paul’s father, GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul, broke the news of his son’s detainment this morning via his Twitter account.
