McConnell: 'It's hard not to feel a sense of disappointment' before State of the Union

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) prepared to welcome President Obama to the Capitol on Tuesday by saying he was already disappointed in the State of the Union address scheduled to be delivered in the House chamber later in the day. 

"Based on what the president's aides have been telling reporters," said McConnell, "the goal is not to conquer the nation's problems, it’s to conquer Republicans. The goal isn't to prevent gridlock, but to guarantee it."
